The Situation

Client was spun-off from larger company and would now be responsible for designing and implementing their own benefits plans.

The Deliverables

  • Provide professional benefits staff assistance, as needed and required, in the day-to-day management of transitioning the benefit programs for both the retirement and health and welfare plans.
  • Profile the current Human Resources and benefits processes and related HRIS systems to ensure that these functions are properly transferred into any new systems, including employee data fields, eligibility data fields and transaction feeds to third party administrators.
  • Project consulting and management support to provide an overall benefits transition work plan, early identification of plan, process and system issues, considerations and design recommendations.
  • Benefit communications support to provide employees with highlights of any benefit plan changes, as well as open enrollment materials.
  • Conduct health and welfare benefits program open enrollment.
  • Plan documentation and Summary Plan Description (SPD) development, if required.

The Results Achieved

  • All benefits plans were transitioned, and open enrollment communications and electronic enrollment were conducted flawlessly within a 2-1/2 month timeframe.
