The Situation

The firm wanted to ensure that it had the appropriate total compensation scheme in place. The firm wanted to create a retirement capital accumulation device, funded based on the firm’s financial growth and success.

The Deliverables

  • Provided an assessment of the total compensation for the senior management team and provide recommendations for any changes.
  • Developed a long-term incentive (LTI) plan that would support the firm’s business strategy, with a focus on continuous growth over the life of the business and increased buy-in, commitment and performance from the senior management team.
  • Developed plan design details, plan document and individual plan statements.

The Results Achieved

  • An LTI plan was developed using phantom stock units that rewarded incremental growth in the Company, as well as recognition of the individual executive’s contribution to that success.
  • The plan was received extremely well by the senior management team.
